hey, i'm trying ubuntu server 9.04 install serve files both windows , mac machines on our network. had samba setup serving windows boxes fine, wanted go step further macs , install netatalk. netatalk running dream, how run both (currently have samba service stopped , running 1 @ time)? want change hostname netatalk uses macs can see both samba , netatalk shares while windows boxes can see samba shares. tom tom wanting same... have figured out how this? know old post... hallo, ich möchte bei unserem pool, welcher von einer wärmepumpe erhitzt wird, die temperatursteigerung nachverfolgen. die temperatur steigt - rechnerisch - in ungefähr 3 1/4 stunden um 1°c. ich möchte ca. alle 20 min eine messung machen. aus diesem grund brauche ich einen ziemlich genauen temperatursensor, 1-wire würde ich bevorzugen. gibt es die mit 0,1°c auflösung? ich habe außerdem gelesen, dass die meisten eine genauigkeit von +-0,5°c haben. ist das die genauigkeit über die ganze verfügbare temperaturspanne oder die genauigkeit für einzelmessungen? i trying find 3v graphic lit lcd resolution 128 x 128 160 x 160, built in controller has arduino graphics lib , not expensive. i have been searching quite awhile , cant find fulfil specs 3v pixel count. am looking in vain or can point me in right direction? moderator edit: thread title made more meaningful. i working on project stream video frames arduino controlled led display. display made of multiple arduino modules. i able have them listening same serial stream pc. possible connect them this:    (wires = rx-rx , tx-tx) pc <=usb=>arduino<=wires=>arduino<=wires=>arduino<=wires=>arduino i tried 2 arduinos gnd's tied didn't work. first 1 plugged usb had rx light flashing , there no activity on second board. , there nothing displaying on led displays. if disconnected serial wires between 2 boards first display show correct information. i sure saw post (i can't find now) saying should possible! is there way of doing or need have usb connection each arduino pc? (and therefore 4 separate serial connections) you can rs485 connections. it's similare serial communication, not point-to-point rs232 does. many modules can share same 2 wires bus. need implement good/right protocol each module communicate others. ...

still quite new this, have had success playing around arduino. i have couple of uno's, r3 , r2, mega r3. i walked radio shack today , saw kinds of new shields on rack, impulse bought few of cooler ones ( overpaid, know  ). one of them being seeed studio tft touch shield. first sketch tried loading touch screen, right away got error message ide ( 1.0 ) non ascii characters. went folder , replaced "-"s in folder name "_"s. seemed quite strange me, first question guess why name files 1 required download such arduino wont recognise them? 1.0 issue? i loaded code uno r2 board then wanted try tft examples, had same re-naming, had load the https://github.com/adafruit/adafruit-gfx-library so, code compiles , loads fine, nothing happens. if open serial monitor, i see following; paint unknown driver chip 202 then nothing happens on tft now have gone wiki page , tried download libraries labled 1.0 ide, come corrupt. assuming tft uses driver chip not in lib...

im planning on project need 328 3.3v , 8mhz, im unsure on requirements other setting ide communicate it can run directly off 3.7v lipo? i bought rgb led , specs 30ma (green/blue), 50ma (red) 3.5v typical, 4.0v max (green/blue); 2.0v typical, 2.6v max (red) i running basic tests seeing if worked day before , working ,(forgot use resistor, lights getting 5v arduino uno) i tried see if have multiple colors on @ once , worked , then today when tried turn on each color seperatly wouldnt turn on, but when tried turning on multiple colors works when green , color turned on. (this time tested , without resistor) 1.) need resistors. no resistors = killing led , arduino board 2.) need 3 resistors rgb led, 1 each color. using single 'shared' resistor doesn't work. hey all. i've had pi (model b, rev2 512mb ram) month , half now. had been working fine, until today when noticed couldn't log on. there no activity indicated green (act) led. trying reboot device power (microusb) plug exhibits following symptoms: power (red) led on , stable. act (green) led on not flash. not once, after plugging in power cable. it's bright, stable, "on" green light, bright red led. there no video output @ composite jack (i cannot test hdmi atm). have tried far (with components , cables unplugged apart power , sd card): using different power supply bought altogether pi rs components. same result, guess not psu. using different sd card rpi (same model , revision) works fine on other device. using third sd card runs fine on rpi, not on problematic one. measuring voltage between tp1 , tp2 shows stable 4.99v testing polyfuse f3 tp2 showed 5.00v input voltage psu (on outside of board) , 4.98v stable voltage output pi (the side of p...

i have fat32 filesystem sitting on nas storage device (nslu2) need mount on ubuntu system. i've tried samba , nfs mounts, both don't seem support proper locking. more specifically, unable save files mounted drive through gnucash, keepassx etc, makes share useless. there protocol allows me achieve ? note nas storage device running linux os can run pretty protocol has linux implementation. option i'm not looking reformat partition ext3, i'm not able due other constraints. alternatively, has managed proper locking of fat32 system on network using samba ? hey gang. after updating r3000 2.6.28-14 kernel, suspend (as hibernate) doesn't quite resume way. machine powers , kern.log shows correctly, seems stop @ last step should restore gnome. dies there, showing wallpaper background after log in. no amount of waiting makes difference. have kill x-session , re-log gnome via gdm, working again. wasn't issue until recent kernel update. have ideas? find no obvious errors in kern.log or messages. update - issue seems exclusive gnome user profile. created test user , tried suspend it, , worked fine. can go , out of suspend gdm login screen, , works fine. it's own profile has causing not resume correctly. haven't figured out issue is. ideas?
