Beginner Looking for Basic Advice on a Project
hello,
i new arduino world, potential fascinates me. technically capable, have little electronics experience. looking tips on project planning. building assembly measure bounce of tennis ball. originally, going drop standard height, , visually determine bounce. i've decided timing bounce way go. have block of slate bounce ball off. use accelerometer of wii nunchuk register bounce, , second bounce. time between 2 bounces critical data. so, looking basic stuff: how interface arduino nunchuk, how interface laptop, , kind of software need collect , manage data.
as background, have converted old beverage kegs pressure tanks, , use them recharge tennis balls have lost bounce. need control process can produce consistent results, , this, need have accurate way compare recharged balls new balls.
thanks in advance help.

you might better off using sensor determines impact (like piezo vibration sensor) accelerometer (as in nunchuk), because inevitable rotation of ball travels give pretty annoying data.
