my project @ http://github.com/tz1/bluev i'm working on interface radar detector.  works on mega series, ran strange problem. if use makefile (malefile.ardumega) compile bluevmega.c, , manually use avrdude, works fine.  if paste ide, compiles , partially works, input capture timing off - using icp4 (and oc interrupts) create software uart missing many edges when use ide.  suspect there other interrupts running interfere or perhaps optimization very, low, or subtle compiler setting playing signed v.s. unsigned games, or 1 of subroutines being superseded. i figure out if saw actual build commands , generated files.  know adding , altering things, there no way can find recover actual steps, e.g. recreate script file process or see parameters avr-gcc , alteredprogram.c file may have changed.  these available anywhere?  i'm surprised either not documented @ or hard find, both going on if wanted commands manually , lack of build logs or script...

as has been mentioned here, pi's appear arrive dead. have 5 working pi's, used existing test platforms , production "parts" testing, , first 2 next 2 pi's not produce boot behavior or video beyond quick, single flash upon applying power. swapped many working sd's, power sources, network cables etc, peripherals not issue. turned out december 2012 wheezy image not work on these new pi's. current (as of today july 2013) work in both new , old pi's. cost me lot of time fiddling, have been valuable me had pi's arrived note mentioning older os's no longer worked new revision. solved. final thought have plan better failure not able transfer sd 1 of current pi's new pi.........this may solved hereafter through update etc....so hope becomes reality. another person fallen foul of rpi's second-best-kept secret. suggested rpis should coming advisory label stuck them. see final sentence of http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpbb3/viewt ......

mi trovo ad alimentare un display lcd hd44780 con una tensione variabile tra 5v e 4 volts o meno (+5 da un lm7805, oppure da batterie nimh 4.8v, che naturalmente si scaricano e la tensione va giu), ed il contrasto o lo regolo per 5 volts, oppure per tensioni inferiori....ma in questo modo è spesso poco leggibile! come posso fare per ottenere una regolazione piu o meno costante? grazie! io ho scoperto che in realtà il contrasto è regolabile con un trimmer usato come reostato, cioè una resistenza variabile tra il pin del contrasto e massa; in pratica collego il centrale del trimmer sul pin del display ed un dei laterali del trimmer su gnd; l'altro capo lo lascio libero, non lo collego all'alimentazione. prova così.
