hii everyone, newbie , followed adafruit's instructions , made simple ledblinky project start raspberry pi shows error "error setup exception: no access /dev/mem" pls pls pls me pls in advanced being able access /dev/mem privileged function, potentially quite risky. in order program needs "root" or "super-user" powers (but doesn't need wear underpants on outside;-) ). way use "sudo" command in front of program name on command line. so, assuming trying run program code: select all python ledblinky.py need use code: select all sudo python ledblinky.py instead. instructions should have mentioned this. raspberrypi

olá, estou precisando de uma ajuda para saber como resolver um problema. estamos fazendo uma instalação e idéia é seguinte: a sala estará equipada com 5 alto-falantes e um microfone apontado para rua. além disso, foram feitas várias peças como piso para sala. essas peças, algumas delas tem espuma em baixo, assim, quando pisadas, elas descem. o que queremos, é que ao serem pisadas, essas peças abram o áudio microfone por uns 30 segundos e direcionem para umas das caixas (aleatoriamente). queremos também distorcer esse áudio pensei em usar o arduino para fazer isso; princípio, ia usar o software isadora em conjunto, mas acredito que só o arduino seria capaz de resolver o meu problema. o que acham? estou na dúvida se uso um arduino uno e uso os sensores em paralelo ou se uso logo um arduino mega, pois seriam pelo menos 10 sensores, mais saídas para caixas e o microfone. outra dúvida é se uso cápsulas piezoelétricas para os sensores ou coloco pushbuttons alguma idéia de como poss...

please dont flame saying this. the usb startup disk useless piece of s***. experience : have used both ubuntu versions 8.10 , 9.04 on usb sticks sorry 9.04 on usb doesnt last more 2 sessions. had noticed if u mistakenly access stick (or open it) next time wont boot , give whatever errors aka busybox , i/o errors. 9.04 worse didnt startup on first boot ! i made usb startup disks several times , every time went kaput after boot or 2 ... i tried coz better live cd not be. believe me usb startup disk aka ubuntu on usb stick can torch holder end dominance windows .... only if can fix it. p.s: integration of openoffice has been great improvement , should have integration of codecs. people need 3 things on computer : internet browser, office app, media player(with codecs). so if integrate these 3 things , make ubuntu usable on usb stick...then may people beyond windows . post bug reports lanuchpad . have se...

i'm sure not new issue.  my robot uses ping obstacles , when found, stops sweeps 180 degrees (10 segments) looking clear path.   having problem surfaces @ oblique angles ping in can't correctly determine distance.  i pretty sure have s same issue sony ir sensor, not sure.  has run solution problem?  the sensor works in every other way. charlie not sure have done avoid trying come here: putting vertical scan motor help? we're using jrun 4 updater 5, java 1.4.2_12 on solaris 9. we running 9 jrun server instances on 2 load-balanced servers. shortly after restarting of servers (for site refresh), 9 jrun server instances shut down simultaneously on own. log message "user flashgatewayservlet: destroy", which normal during shutdown. a half-hour later, other solaris box (again, 9 jrun servers) did same thing. no system logs or jrun logs of concern. time see jrun tank during network outages, but wasn't case. in lieu of flooding details our application , environment, does know condition(s) cause jrun servers on 1 machine simultaneously exit? thanks More discussions in JRUN adobe

ive been running 8.10 since came out , had no problems, got around grading 9.04 other day. burned cd, checked , had no problems/errors installed normally. got up, installed programs wanted, updated it. after said needed restart. clicked "restart now". powered down normally, went boot up. went until got loading bar, got 98% done. screen flickered , showed screen on, green vertical lines running down top of screen , (as far can tell) random blue blots @ top. every time try boot. , when try go command line says kinit no resume image what sort of graphics card have? bah! never mind. didn't see last line. wait bit , i'll research. when installing 9.04 , when gets partitioning part doesnt show sliding bar can edit amount of space want each os maybe because ubuntu doesn't you??? but, seriously, how info first ... like, have on machine (i'm guessing want install on machine has existing os already). example ... if you're running vista, covers folks these days wanting install ubuntu on ms windows box, must not use ubuntu installer resize vista partition or run risk of rendering permanently unbootable. if you're running xp, that's not problem. hi guys. install ubuntu 9.04 on 250 gb toshiba portable hard drive. have compaq desktop 2 internal hard drives. first 1 160 gb windows vista on it. second 1 80 gb ubuntu 9.04 on (with grub). install ubuntu on portable drive maybe 50 gb ubuntu , 200 gb fat32 storage. boot portable drive computer through grub. porblem don't know , how install grub (on portable drive) won't overwrite grub on internal drive , able boot from computer. appreciated. in advance! hey all, i have been happily authoring sites directly on ftp servers 3+ years not contain applications. i have gotten first 2 small applications jobs clients. from understand dw - not smart develop directly on shared hosting server develop , test locally when works - upload remote site. but these applications on pre-exisitng sites. here simple comments , questions hoping enlighten me on, confirm, or give me better procedure. remember - have never developed locally before reason. such confused learning "proper" practice. these aren't in order. 1 - when define site define new. set local folder. when asks me remote server information - put in existing site ftp information. correct? 2 - have local folder empty , remote full - have "get" existing web site pages , images. correct? 3 - - develop app (i'm on mac) - have php , apache , mqsql turned on locally. think correct. 4 - develop app locally (without inadvertantly uploading ftp server , taking chance o...
