Getting Images onto smaller cards - Raspberry Pi Forums
hi gents/ladies,
@ point, every lady/gent find sd card configured how needs project work, , want make backup.
worthy goal, writing config files when don't need mugs game.
needed myself, found win32diskimager tool using full size of card image, not space used.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/
annoyed me because had been impatient when got rpi's , used camera sd cards intentions of buying cheap 4-8 gb cards later.
bought cards today, , use images on them, didn't appear possible.
solution found use minitool partition wizard.
http://download.cnet.com/minitool-parti ... 62200.html
did plug in card wanted up, , on smaller card.
plugged in usb memory stick (i didn't have 2 card reader spots)
copied partitions sdcard memory stick, replaced 64gb sdcard cheaper 8gb sdcard , copied usb memory stick sdcard.
works. able go whatever lowest value card can take partition information.
once have on lowest value card fit on, can use win32diskimager make image backup @ smaller size.
favour because if want share projects people less bandwidth, , greater accessibility using smaller card sizes.
