LCD, 12V Boost, and controller

alright, i'm trying combine following:

1. arduino board atmega168a chip stripped down bare minimum running on internal clock.
2. lm2731 boost converter. battery input 6-12v 12vdc output. http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/lm2731.pdf
3. chip on glass serial lcd display http://www.newhavendisplay.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cpath=3_111&products_id=1829

in addition i'll need add few transistors, switches, etc. , lines out. i'm controlling 12v solenoid valves (yes, read tutorial). thing is, need combine 1"x2" 1 sided board. smd i'm going preferably not tiny impossible solder hand. lcd screen mounted on side of board. whole board @ 3v per lcd screen.

i've gotten far pulling eagle schematic lm2731 , transistors etc, i'm not sure how proceed integrating arduino components. i'm afraid i'll throw out connections/parts need if start hacking , trying combine them.

i'm hoping program arduino ide , use serial package communicate lcd.

any advice or how proceed appreciated...i'm stuck.

alright, here's have. there's still 1 capacitor , few tactiles need added, it's there. first board i've ever laid out, feedback great. since can't internal ground plane free eagle, tried keep ground low impedance possible around boost circuit. i've pulled out spi pins can bootload chip insitu. programming accomplished hooking mini usb adapter.

am correct in understanding if i'm using internal pullup resistor don't need resistors on input tactile switches?

thanks!
