Thread: GRUB hangs after power outage...

hi everybody!

had power outage messed disks little bit. after incident, booted no problem raid missing. got working again , didn't think twice it.

well, moved whole system new case, , hangs on grub screen (it takes literally several minutes display 'grub' on screen). i've removed unnecessary peripherals testing, , ran 'e2fsck -fv' on boot disk (from installer cd) , came clean. reinstalled grub rescue disk, , didn't either.

in order rule out hardware problems, installed ubuntu (server) on different disk. installed , ran 100% normally. i'm pretty sure there's funky going on boot drive.

have ideas might causing , how fix it? if else fails, able clone system disk's data, reformat disk (including mbr) , add again? rather not have configure programs again.

advice appreciated. thanks!
