[resolved] Arduino SMD R2 no tx

i having problems arduino smd r2.
i got , it's first maybe im doing wrong.

when got it not detected serial device in linux , wouldn't work
in windows either. read updatind dfu , did that.

the instruction on website wrong. after triggering reset pin says do:
dfu-programmer at90usb82 flash arduino-usbserial-uno.hex
that not work , makes no sense, did following:
dfu-programmer atmega8u2 arduino-usbserial-uno.hex (of course did erase first , reset)


since have done serial device shows in linux ttyacm0

the problem still:
when send sketch rx light on board blinks tx not,
and avrdude gives me stk500_recv() error.

loop test passed, both leds blink , messages exhoed back.

when first opened box tried push reset button see happen
(it plugged in of course!) , nothing happened.

now still nothing , understand @ least l should light up...

so think got board had no dfu on 8u2. possible
it doesnt have bootloader? hope simpler that. don't have
time send board back. it's board can't isp other board :s

if passes loop-back test , upload fails can caused by:

* issues auto-reset / defective auto-reset (there discussion on forum , using diode fix it)
* missing or corrupt bootloader
* defective microcontroller

Crossfader Arduino Tutorial

hello i'm super newb please don't bash me much. i'm using led's , i've connected them correctly (finally) , wondering why program here ( http://www.arduino.cc/en/tutorial/colorcrossfader ) doesn't work? say's haven't declared crossfade. read directions on top , said crossfade needs used list order of colors. isn't declared in main part (void loop() )? or need declared before? nevermind void on bottom , needed before voidloop. lol anyways playing rgb led's wondering if has specific way of making them fade in , out different colors?
