detect power loss
i have looked @ openenergyproject site's info measuring voltage , current (and it's stuff). want simple, boolean/digital input indicating whether there line voltage present or not.
i'll have 240v, split-phase wiring (2 * 120v ac , ground) measure. interested in using 1 of 2 120v lines (i can safely assume if 1 line dead, other). arduino uno's power-supply coming different source.
basically want want kind of "reverse relay", 120v available on line holds i/o 1 state , flips when voltage gone.
the openenergyproject uses ac/ac transformer , uses voltage-dropping-resistors drop range 0-5v analog i/o port can measure. want know if it's present or not. i'm not interested in whether it's 120v or 110v on line.
is there cheaper/simpler alternative working line-voltage (probably) digital input on arduino?
thanks,
aj

probably cheapest way detect line-voltage use mobile phone charger (usb charger) purchased ebay.
