Emulator For Practice Development - Raspberry Pi Forums

hey guys!

i'm noob raspberry pi - far, hardest problem me has physical space. work in nyc @ business incubator , have 4 foot 2 foot workspace... having little room (for regular computer set , pi, plus not being able leave out overnight (don't want stolen), has made working pi difficult.

wondering if of knew of kind of development emulator practice basics on. know of such thing? i've found few things on line, seem have mixed reviews.

assistance appreciated! i'm excited new part of pi community!

yes there virual machine image can download allow simulate raspberry pi on windows desktop etc. google "raspberry pi qemu image".

otherwise leave raspberry pi set @ home , connect remotely work. this. need forward port 22 on home router pi. can use program called putty ssh (secure shell server) home router ip address, give pi command prompt inside window (see below). if want desktop you'll need use other software tightvnc.

mind you, programming on desktop pc anyway - if want practise!

Crossfader Arduino Tutorial

hello i'm super newb please don't bash me much. i'm using led's , i've connected them correctly (finally) , wondering why program here ( http://www.arduino.cc/en/tutorial/colorcrossfader ) doesn't work? say's haven't declared crossfade. read directions on top , said crossfade needs used list order of colors. isn't declared in main part (void loop() )? or need declared before? nevermind void on bottom , needed before voidloop. lol anyways playing rgb led's wondering if has specific way of making them fade in , out different colors?
