Electromagnet overheating?
hi,
this first post here, please tell me if should clarify anything.
i'm having problem electromagnet getting hot , can't figure out why. bought intertec its-ms-2015 conrad.
it's 12v 2.5w electromagnet force of 20n.
it's force nice (see some experiments). said get's hot.
some data:
magnet:
r: 70 ohm
u: 21 v
calculated (12/70): 0.1714285714 / 171 a
documented (2.5/12): 0.2083333333 / 208 ma
measured i: 0.17 (in 10a mode) en 155 ma (in 200ma mode)
i use voltcraft usps-600 adjustable dc adapter, put on 12v mode, power it. says can deliver 600ma. measured it's giving 12v.
when mean hot mean can't hold in hands anymore.
any tips appreciated.
