Ardunio Joy-Mouse
in quest alternative input controller or in simple words better mouse, ordered 3-axis accelerometer , hooked ardiuno.
the original idea mount accelerometer on top of glove; problem turn inwards , turn outwards of wrist not even.
then sow post http://www.ladyada.net/make/usbgamepad/index.html
and sow http://siliconrepublic.blogspot.com/2010/08/arduino-based-human-interface-device.html
which made me think, if take joy stick , turn joy-mouse, adding accelerometer movement control , needed mouse scroller.
i had joystick purchased take parts out of, cost less them 3us$ contain more 10 pressure pads (for buttons).
i took inner parts of joystick, except left up/down button. rewired act buttons on arduino.
i mounted accelerometer in center of joystick , closed it.
the arduino comes library allows act ps2 mouse/keyboard (remember those? days before usb took over?) , of simple ps2 usb can hook computer (that doesn't know what's ps2).
after lot of reading: http://www.computer-engineering.org/ps2mouse/ manged mouse scroller work well.
the first version photos of can found here: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150239676246174.313376.732646173&type=3&l=e4ea793329 got destroyed me (short circuiting nano accidently)
so bought new , better (and bigger, have more space inside) joy stick, created mounting socket nano (you learn mistakes, privies 1 soldered wires directly it).
the code sure can better, hey, works , works well.
