Thread: Reconfigure/replace Network Manager for mobile broadband?
after fair amount of work (and assistance of a useful howto on site), i've managed 3 uk usb modem working on 9.04 netbook remix installation.
however, i'm finding things still flaky getting connected, taking number of attempts connection. part of problem seems short timeout on network manager.
wondering if suggest answer either of following:
1. there way make nm timeout longer? 30s?
2. failing that, there alternative nm try? use wicd on desktop (debian) installation, i've found lot better nm wifi card on main pc. however, wicd doesn't support mobile broadband (yet) isn't option this.
i'm running nm 0.7.1.git.4.364ab2f86 launchpad ppa , replacement nm-modem-probe howto thread linked above, though i'm not looking troubleshoot nm in thread.
in advance suggestions people may have.
