Thread: problem booting
i tried run .rar file shortly later crashed computer , couldn't move mouse or did restart clicking reset button. when try boot following errors
mounting sys on /root/sys failed
mounting proc on /root/proc failed
target filesystem doesn't have /sbin/init
no init found
have tried doing numerous things in terminal fix such
that failed triedcode:ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo fsck /dev/sdc1/ fsck.ext2: not directory while trying open /dev/sdc1/ superblock not read or not describe correct ext2 filesystem. if device valid , contains ext2 filesystem (and not swap or ufs or else), superblock corrupt, , might try running e2fsck alternate superblock: e2fsck -b 8193 <device>
any thoughts?code:ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo e2fsck -b 8193 /dev/sdc1/ e2fsck 1.41.4 (27-jan-2009) e2fsck: not directory while trying open /dev/sdc1/ superblock not read or not describe correct ext2 filesystem. if device valid , contains ext2 filesystem (and not swap or ufs or else), superblock corrupt, , might try running e2fsck alternate superblock: e2fsck -b 8193 <device>
try running live cd. open terminal, make sure root partition unmounted , run fsck.
