Using simple (arduino) sensors in the GPIO bus - Raspberry Pi Forums
hi all,
first post pardon (but correct) faux pas may commit.
i'm building remote control framework pi , need connect number of sensors in gpio pins on board.
following nice:
https://dx.com/p/high-sensitivity-ir-re ... ino-152264
https://dx.com/p/vibration-switch-senso ... ino-150406
https://dx.com/p/arduino-compatible-3-p ... red-144386
of these built powered @ 5v (some of them work @ 3, vibration switch)
understand it, gpio pins rated 3.3v, except ones powering stuff.
question is: possible use 5v sensors on pi's gpio pins, without resorting intermediary boards? kind of electronics need build purpose?
imagine many wondering why won't use either arduino or intermediary arduino-compatible boards in first place. reason cost. goal of project add bunch of sensors internet via easy-to-use extensible framework. want add many of these units around house , form factor , cost key here. why not arduino programming web-capable extensible system in c beyond capabilities.
help! if working, i'll post results , source code y'all.
