Serial port using RS232 Serial Port To TTL Converter Module - Raspberry Pi Forums

i need serial port on raspberry.. usb ports taken , prefer not use usb hub. found these 2 articles;

got of these 2 solutions working? quite similar except fact 1st 1 used 5v in , other 1 3v one.
tried 3v solution doesnt seem work me. after seting port correctly described in http://www.irrational.net/2012/04/19/us ... rial-port/.

ideas?

you must use module max3232 chip or equivalent (not max232) , module must powered 3.3 volt power pin.
problems having? did connect ground properly?

Crossfader Arduino Tutorial

hello i'm super newb please don't bash me much. i'm using led's , i've connected them correctly (finally) , wondering why program here ( http://www.arduino.cc/en/tutorial/colorcrossfader ) doesn't work? say's haven't declared crossfade. read directions on top , said crossfade needs used list order of colors. isn't declared in main part (void loop() )? or need declared before? nevermind void on bottom , needed before voidloop. lol anyways playing rgb led's wondering if has specific way of making them fade in , out different colors?
