Monitor Resolution Problems - Raspberry Pi Forums

hi everyone,

have problem, haven't seen before. have acer monitor connected raspberry pi via dvi-d hdmi adapter. native resolution of monitor 1600x900. i'm running raspbian wheezy, dist-upgrade current level. software says monitor resolution 1600x900.

problem logical screen extends far beyond right edge of screen. far can't see cpu utilization widget on bottom bar. when go info screen of monitor says current resolution 1280x960.

don't know start troubleshooting this. feel somewhere there 1280x960 hard coded in configuration file , overrides hardware probe @ startup

in advance can give me.

i wanted add have beaglebone black(bbb) now, running on debian wheezy. when connect bbb via micro hdmi same dvi-d adapter, monitor reports 1600x900. there in raspbian detects 1600x900 capability of monitor, turns around , talks 1280x960 monitor.

end result shifted right, , right hand side of desktop off screen. out there?
