pi power supply issues - Raspberry Pi Forums
hi,
wanting consider various power supply issues, find lots of mixed information, , have trouble searching on forum (try searching 'powering pi usb')
suggest separate power supply topic, , 'new user' information :
- block diagram of pi power supply section (including usb power)
- suggestions / warnings on powering pi usb, gpio
- sort of powered hub buy.
have following understanding reading various posts / google searches, if can correct me, please so.
no problems powering pi usb revb version 2, since fuses on usb power have been removed. watch out if using usb supplies power , have micro usb power connected (something 'd17').
- mean powered usb hub should not supply power 'master' port if plan use micro usb power adapter, should if don't want use micro usb power adapter?

hi there!
there literature on already. have on these links;
know not you’re asking bit it’ll help.

far know don’t think there risk pi if plan power either through micro usb port via charger or via looping cable 1 of spare usb hub ports. may find hub feeds power through master uplink port too, in case can away powering pi through micro usb port.
test if happening, start charger based set up. turn off charger , if pi remains on hub feeding power.
