reacting to specific frequencies

is there direction can push me on how build circuit react sound clap?

was thinking of using filter: http://www.sparkfun.com/products/9964

i have means of recording , analyzing sound can find frequency sound around @ least. thinking of building hardware or digital band-pass filter (not sure how honestly, hah) trigger signal arduino if frequency met.

i've seen suggestions in using um3763: http://www.chinaicmart.com/series-um3/um3763.html

this guess @ how this. maybe there better way? ideas?

the main problem sound clap complex waveform , not 1 frequency. makes difficult recognise.
for getting @ frequency content of waveform use fft. gives in effect list of frequencies , relitave strengths. recognising specific sound lot more complex because fft change on time.
while can implement band pass filter digitally not high order filter due lack of processing power of arduino.
