Need Help getting X10 USB remote to work - Raspberry Pi Forums
hi all,
wanted control rpi using usb wireless remote (raio not ir).
1 bought seems work out of box on xbmc based distros, these overkill purpose - mpd sufficient , fast boot-up more important me.
remote recognized as:
bus 001 device 006: id 0bc7:0006 x10 wireless technology, inc. wireless transceiver (acpi-compliant)
should atiusb compatible.
however, cannot work under raspbian. kernel module lirc_atiusb doesn't seem included in standard rasbian image.
theoretically, should possible use driver atilibusb, couldn't work either.
i'm bit confused the guides i've googled...
primary question if @ possible remote work without recompiling kernel.
edit: think problem @ moment ist, don't have device under /dev/
output dmesg
pi@raspifi ~ $ sudo dmesg | grep -i usb

i tried medion x10 remote working on openelec 5 , 6.0.0. lower half of remote seems consistently send signals rpi. tested userspace atilibusb-command ssh-prompt:
lircd --driver=help
shows lirc present , compiled atilibusb.
rmmod ati_remote
irrecord -f -h atilibusb --disable-namespace lircd.conf
last command, lirc irw , ir-keytable -t doesn't see keys pressed of upper half of remote, work fine on lower half.
key-press of upper half coming thru , surprisingly mapped, issue low-level.
cheapest way learn live remap of lower keys want with kodi key-editor plugin.
