Thread: Want to delete Win7 from Ubuntu+XP+Win7 triple boot
at moment have ubuntu, xp, , windows 7 beta on different partitions in computer. want rid of windows 7 (it expires soon).
don't know best way - microsoft page doesn't include instructions situation. don't need of files in win7 partition; i've hardly used it.
@ moment, ubuntu boot screen upon starting computer up, options of booting ubuntu, xp, or win7. ubuntu boots fine. if choose xp, computer fails boot. if choose win7, win7 boot screen - here, can choose xp , win7, both of boot correctly.
i'd able boot xp , ubuntu initial ubuntu boot screen. advice, please?
thank reading this.![]()
it sounds though win7 bootloader configured have choice of xp or w7, xp entry in grub faulty. grub error when choose xp grub menu?
if wasn't problem, have edit grub's menu.lst remove w7 entry. re-use w7 c: partition want. don't have uninstall w7 - either reformat partition or delete files on , use data storage. ntfs filesystem read/writeable in ubuntu , xp see e:, f:, g: or whatever.
of course, if remove w7 files, wan't able boot xp, let's see if can xp booting grub first.
post following:
contents of /boot/grub/menu.lst
, terminal output of:
code:sudo fdisk -l
