access cômand line over internet - Raspberry Pi Forums


hi. want able access command line/shell on raspberry pi remote computer on internet. tutorials i've seen assume have router internet access. have mobile broadband hotspot connection raspberry pi , various laptops around house wirelessly connected on home network.

don't have static ip address external ip address. possible connect pi's command line without external static ip address.

there tutorial covers this?

if can access internet rpi, can access rpi internet (but want use firewall stop bad folk accessing rpi).

can use service http://www.noip.com/ give dynamic ip address dns entry.

http://www.noip.com/services/managed_dn ... c_dns.html 100% free (it nags every 30 days).
there's bash script @ https://github.com/antoniocs/no-ip.com-bash-updater run on rpi.

can use ssh mynoiphostname.noip.com or putty (from windows machine) logon rpi.

read uncomplicated firewall (ufw) http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpbb3/viewt ... 5&p=370082 takes pain out of iptables.
