Trying to use PS2 mouse as a sensor, but it won't interface to Arduino

hi,

i have been using ps2.h try data usb mouse supposedly supports ps/2 protocol, not working. when ps2.h goes through sequence resets mouse , sends instructions send data gets stuck @ point when mouse supposed take control of clock arduino can send instructions. i'm wondering if ps2.h written @ time before usb mice , isn't capable of switching usb mouse ps/2 mode. thoughts on appreciated.

thanks,

solved it. turns out genius mouse brought not backward compatible ps/2 though specification says is. must have exchanged sensor chip 1 ps/2 capability not present @ point. have usb mouse doing job wanted perfectly.
