Thread: Bootloader problem

hey everyone,

i've been trying number of combinations mac os x, ubuntu 9.04 working on macbook 4.1 refit.

have never had sort of trouble before, use bootcamp create spare partition, load ubuntu onto spare partition (tried using alternate , live cd), have tried skipping installing grub, installing grub on hd0 (which broke mac os x working , required fixing through disk utility), tried installing on /dev/sda3 on live cd suggested here (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ma...elinstallation) broke mac os x working again.

closest working when refit installed , working after ubuntu install , when click on linux icon goes black screen saying "loading grub stage2:" , macbook restarts.

problem macbook, problem jaunty or doing blindingly obvious?

appreciated - miss ubuntu install

hi i'm little confused, use term "grub" in reference boot loader, ppc uses yaboot, way, if don't care way boot screen looks , load ubuntu , let yaboot handle rest, (no need fuss if want functionality) have install issues 9.04 , load 8.04 first , upgrade there, dual boot mac , ubuntu no problem on mac have loaded ubuntu!
