How do you damage the FT232?
hello,
i have had several arduino nanos , managed damage them :-( due random loose wire or mistake.
usually, it's replacable schottky diode gets damaged (short between 5v , gnd), time not fried diode, ft232. problem don't understand why *at all*.
asi i'd learn mistakes, please tell me, makes ft232 damaged? i'd expect chip used usb<->serial translation...
thanks!

most common things think esd (electrostatic discharge) on usb data lines, , shorting +3.3v output of ft232. ft232 indeed fragile (electrically) in experience. shorting 3.3v output gnd or 5v brief period of time enough destroy it. stay away pin altogether. put capacitor on gnd, , leave alone.
