4 Phase Stepper

i working on project kids museum , learn stepper motors. have taken 4 phase 6 wire unipolar stepper motor old printer.
http://www.mitsumi.co.jp/latest/catalog/pdf/motor_m35sp_9_e.pdf

i trying use l293d control it. cause ordered chip thinking stepper bipolar. found drawing 6 wire unipolar stepper...
http://www.me.umn.edu/courses/me2011/arduino/technotes/stepper/coilconfig.html

is possible short 2 center taps , use bipolar stepper two-wire circuit shown in link?
http://www.tigoe.com/pcomp/code/circuits/motors/stepper-motors/
are 6 wire stepper motors wired same way?

and figure out wire belongs coil, have "short" test find out set of 3 wires belong each coil? resistance between coil ends should half of resistance between end , center tap?

thanks in advance.

i believe have answered own question correctly in each case.

if want use l293d control it, ignore centre tap connections , treat bipolar stepper - need higher voltage used way.
